How was your Thanksgiving?
Mine was lovely.
My cousin Mads and I made potatoes again this year; we might have even made a little too much--Grandma you were right there was a ton but where's the fun in having just the right amount of fluffy goodness with just the right amount of salt, butter and love? More is always better when it comes to good mashed potatoes.
Hello leftover love.
Our numbers were few this year--we were all able to eat in the same room, something I'm sure has happened before but if I was there for it I was probably a baby when it happened.
Mads and I even sat at the grown-up table this year
[read: everyone was at their in-laws this year and this year was the first year there ever was room]. Don't worry, we had Uncle Bry take a picture for us.
What I learned at the Grownup table:
There is just as much if not more silly sass than at the kids table.
We had to get it from somewhere.
We had to get it from somewhere.
Shocker.
After the food coma passed, stuff was mostly cleaned up and football had lost my attention, my cousin Kristi and I bonded when we:
judged Enrique Iglesias on his 'lack of Latin' movement,
laughed about loads of stuff I can't remember--I think Mission Impossible 57696076 or something was one of them,
and talked about African babies.
She's leaving in 3 weeks to work at an orphanage somewhere on that continent.
I told her how I want to adopt an African baby.
She invited me to go with her to the orphanage next year.
Of course I said yes.
Within 30 minutes I had the frame-work of a savings plan worked out in my head on how I was going to fund the whole thing.
Babies. Africa. What a long plane ride.
Here's a funny video that has nothing to do with Thanksgiving:
Which of course made me think of this clip from 'The Big Bang Theory'
