Why Dating is like a Solar System

Last weekend I had a chance to play with some dear friends* One of these dear friends related an analogy about how the dating world works just like a solar system for him. I like the analogy and wish I could pass it off as my own one day. Also I hope to impress you all not embarrass myself with my vast knowledge of astronomy.

  • At the center of the solar system is a sun, or, the object of your affection.
  • Every now and then someone else will eclipse the sun, thus distracting you from him or her but this eclipse is usually very temporary and hardly lasts very long.
  • Your solar system is a part of a universe and sometimes you will need to play nice with other galaxies in order to exist.**
  • Sometimes the sun will implode on itself when the relationship doesn't work out creating a big black vacuous hole for a few months or until a new sun comes along.
There, now you learned something

*If I like being around you I usually refer to you on here as a dear (fill in the blank here)
**Made that one up myself, neat, isn't it?.
