Milestones

Can you imagine getting a letter you've waited nearly forever for only to find out that you'll have to wait longer to open the letter which is now finally in your hands? Well Becca Peach here's to you for waiting for us, don't you worry, yes, I'll wait for you, and learn proper comma placement while you're gone.
This week Whitney found out that Becca had finally got her mission call. (sorry Church offices, but 2 months? really? that's a long time to wait.) She grabbed me and Andy and we raced up to Logan as fast as we could. And by race we mean hang out in the parking lot that is the freeway at rush hour) Becca would call while traffic inched along distant and foreign sounding places like Murray and Layton and insist that we had a half hour before she was going to open the glorious call, Whit would get on the phone and tell her that we were commin and insist that Becca was going to wait to open the letter. I don't know it I've ever heard Whit use such a stern angry voice before. Once traffic started flowing Whit went faster than the speed limit [gasp] showing just how much she wanted to be in Logan, I believe a phrase that was used is: "I'll go 80 for you!"
While on the freeway to distract from the frustration of slow moving traffic and the lack of technological advances in the way of tele-porting we worked cheesy dating one liners into casual conversation such as: oh look! he made his move[changed lanes], or that's the one [lane] we're meant to be with [in]! The cheesyness continued when Becca asked people if they would wait for her.
To celebrate we went on a not quite midnight hike up in the Logan foothills and through a tunnel to a water pipe-yes it did wonders on my back like Homer Simpson did wonders on peoples backs in that episode where he throws people on a trash can to fix their lumbar ailments. The shooting stars are wonderful-no summer is complete without a good meteor shower with good friends. I learned that it's ok to hold hands in the dark with your friends while on hikes because it's better than falling and it helps you feel less creepped out in the darkness.
I am very excited for Becca. The people of her mission will be and are blessed-this is the same mission that one of my favorite cousins is serving in. I'm proud of Whitney for being willing to break out of her normal driving habits and for being willing to break traffic laws [where possible] to get us there sooner.
