Clearly My Friends, I am Obsessed.

Hiking.
I adore hiking.
Great portions of my summers are devoted to this delightful past time.
I must say, I am loving the winter sunshine and thereby the lack of inclement weather as well as the non-threat of being stuck up on a mountain due to a sudden snow storm that was at a 20% chance when I stepped foot on the trail. (Doesn't always happen but wait until it does, boy howdy, it'll be days before you feel warm again.)
My family has some general guidelines for going hiking:
  • Bring your phone. (This came as a result of the moose incident, however I'm still not sure what they planned to do with the handgun against a riled up momma moose separated from her baby and bearing down on mine--not mine, my little brother Hunty.)
  • Don't lock your keys in the car. (A plain "well duh" but worth consideration.)
  • As a result of Nile, my stomach monster, I bring food with me. (The foothills of Timp have never seen so many orange peels, jk they probably have)
  • Most recently the first question the folks ask when I tell them that I went hiking this____day is "did you get any cool pictures?" Now it's just about habit to carry a bag with me full of keys, camera and food as I walk my favorite trails.
Here are the latest pictures:

Ooo, is that dry canyon? You need to go back when there is snow, or just when it gets really cold (since you might not get any more snow), and check out the ice wall to the right of the waterfall, and the frozen waterfall, crazy cool.
