Migraine Tea

Darn migraines.
What a pain.
I don't like taking pills to get rid of those pains. Ibuprofen, Tylenol or Excedrin doesn't (don't?) always work and I usually wind up with a queasy stomach.
This time around when I got a headache and the pills failed me I tried a combination I heard of from a friend. Gentle but effective. I'm sure I've heard that last sentence used to describe a laxative somewhere but it also describes how this tea works, gentle but effective. Try it next time you get a headache, or come find me and I'll make this tea for you.

Ingredients:
Cinnamon (stick not powder)
Peppermint
Lavender
Chamomile

Combine and crush the first three ingredients together either in a mortar and pestle or on a cutting board with the butt of a butter knife--it really gets everything mixed and helps the hot water release the oils better than hot water alone. Cinnamon is great as the base, use half as much lavender as you would peppermint (lavender smells nice but is super super strong as a tea). Add chamomile as the very last thing you do before adding water--don't crush it like the others. Additionally, if you're feeling nauseated adding a spot of ginger is also quite useful.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love herbs?
I love herbs.

I want my own herb garden this summer.
