Summer Has Magic

I had a conversation with a friend about the new Decemberist album and which song was better, it went something like this:

Friend: The Decemberists best one is Calamity Song. So good!
Me: That's a good one. I think out of that album June Hymn might be my favorite, but then again I am a sucker for songs about June and summer and stuff.
Friend: Yeah, I agree with you. The song is good and you are a sucker.
Me: Thanks.

Summer does have magic though; even with a million things going on there is a certain unique beauty in this season that the other seasons could never fully reflect. Beauty that slows everything down and makes life better, happier. Yes, magical things do indeed happen during summer.

F. Scott Fitzgerald in the Great Gatsby [go read it now please] said it best when he said:

"And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer."

I hope your summer has magic in it too.
