I Make Stuff

One of my favorite blogs is from the author of Sewing Green by betz white her blog has fantastic tutorials. I saw a tutorial of hers about making a sunglass case out of felted wool and knew I wanted to try it. The following are pictures of my attempt; you can find the real tutorial here. The pattern found in her tutorial is meant for regular eyeglasses, but I wanted to use this case for my sunglasses so I enlarged the pattern by one inch all around. I used material from an old jacket I'd never use and left-over fabric from a shirt I made forever ago.

  • I cut out the fabric
  • Put right sides together and sewed nearly all the way around
  • Made button flowers which I want to redo
  • Pulled right sides out, folded it in half (purple side out) and sewed sides together
  • Turned my case right-side-out
yes it actually works! success

Monica! You're amazing. You're going to have to show me how.
